Training Program Overview
Welcome to Missouri State University Health Insurance and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy and Security Training.
The
policies, procedures and training for health information privacy are
intended to support faculty, staff and students of Missouri State
University. This online program is designed to provide you with:
 | An overview of HIPAA |
 | Outline your responsibilities as a member of a Missouri State Health Care Component |
 | Provide resources available to you 24/7 |
Upon completion of this online program you will need to certify that you have completed the training through an online registration process that requires you
to enter your user ID and Windows password.
When asked
to log in please enter
your
Windows user ID into the User name field in the following format:
 | Springfield and Mountain Grove users: sgf\userID or
copper\userID |
 | West
Plains users: wp\userID or brass\userID |
 | Enter your Windows password into the Password field |

or (417)836-4592. The running time for this training program is about 28 minutes but I would recommend allowing 60 minutes to complete the program and to review the Missouri State HIPAA Procedures linked to this training.

available.
Many of you will also attend Departmental level training to learn about specific procedures that will be implemented for your area in safeguarding Protected Health Information (PHI) and enforcing HIPAA.

Information and Equipment Support for Training
Individuals who are required to complete the Missouri State HIPAA Privacy and Security
Training program and do not have access to a computer in their work area
will be able to utilize the Computer Services Training Facility located in
Cheek 100 or the Human Resources Training Room in Carrington 110. Please
contact Human Resources Training at X64592 or
hrtraining@missouristate.edu to schedule use
of a computer.
